After over 20 years, Naust Marine and Ottó N. Þorláksson success continues on

Built by Stálvík hf. in Garðabær, Iceland in 1981, the Ottó N. Þorláksson, 57x10.3m icefish trawler, was the first ship to receive the Automatic Trawl Winch (ATW) control system from Naust Marine.

In 1999, then owners HB Grandi, installed new Naust Marine trawl winches and updated the control system onboard.

In 2022, new owners Ísfélag Vestmannaeyja (2017) purchased two new Naust Marine electric trawl winches and a new Automatic Trawl Winch control system to update the aging deck machinery.

Currently, the Ottó N. Þorláksson is preparing for fishing and expected to be south of Iceland this fall/winter.

Naust Marine's ATW control system, developed in 1979, continues to be one leading solution chosen by vessel owners time and again.
The ATW was designed by Rafboði which in 1993, became Naust Marine.
