Naust Marine, in partnership with Norwegian manufacturer Techano AS, will design and manufacture 18 complete marine telescopic boom cranes for the six freezer trawlers (3 per vessel) being built by Norebo Holding at the Severnaya Verf Shipyard in St. Petersburg Russia. Each crane has a different capacity and outreach; 6 tons at 16 meters, 7 tons at 12 meters, and 1.5 tons at 6 meters. All cranes will be assembled and tested in Norway, and are designed for operation down to -30 degrees C.
The cranes are equipped with a separate operator panel which provides a comfortable work environment for the operator. The cranes can also be operated from a portable radio remote control panel. All controls include full proportional speed control for all crane motions. Each crane comes with its Hydraulic Power Unit, starters for the electric motor, and remote-control units.
Through innovative engineering, the high-quality cranes provide optimal efficiency, reliability, and safety for the lifting and handling operations. These cranes will allow for a more effortless and safer operation when loading and unloading catch and cargo. All cranes are approved by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and comply with the Russian Technical Regulations on the Safety of Sea Transport Items (ТР-620).
Kapitan Sokolov is the first in the series of the six new state-of-the-art factory trawlers that will receive these custom and complete marine cranes. Kapitan Sokolov and Kapitan Geller will be the first two vessels to receive their new Naust Marine / Techano cranes. All six trawlers will receive their cranes by 2021. Naust Marine is pleased to work with Techano in supplying cranes, as part of the Naust Marine custom and complete deck machinery solution.
