Naust Marine is where innovative Deck Machinery is designed, manufactured, and supported

Our mission, since 1993, has been to deliver proven Electric Winch, Control, and Power Management solutions that are environmentally friendly and can successfully operate in the toughest of seas and calmest of tides. Our systems provide peace of mind, safety, and practical operations.
By focusing on our values with each task, having a skilled and committed team, and continuous technology development, we aim to be a world leading quality supplier in the Maritime industry for custom and Complete Deck Machinery Solutions.

Quality Policy
Naust Marine’s Quality Policy ensures all company business is performed following applicable laws and regulations. It also ensures the company designs and manufactures superior products in a cost-effective way. Customers will be provided goods and services in agreement with requirements, details, and price. Special emphasis is placed on the detailed testing of products to ensure quality at the source. Rapid technological development and continuous growth will be executed in parallel.  The Quality Policy also confirms that we will provide excellent service. 

Our story

  • 1979  - First ATW system sold (Rafboði now Naust Marine)
  • 1981  - First ATW installed (Ship: Ottó N. Þorláksson)
  • 1993 - Naust Marine formally established
  • 1995  - First system sale outside Iceland
  • 1998  - First ATW to a Moonzund trawler, NM supplied to 20 identical vessels
  • 2006  - First US trawler receives winches & ATW controls (Bristol Explorer) 
  • 2009  - Naust Marine moves to Miðhella 4, Hafnarfjörður, Iceland
  • 2010  - Winch system sold to South America (Echizen Maru, Argentina)
  • 2011 - Naust Marine USA established in Seattle (sales & service office)
  • 2012  - Naust Marine sells complete winch system to Japanese trawler
  • 2016  - First ATW system to Pulkovskiy Meridian trawler (BATM)
  • 2016  - Naust Marine Serbia established (moved to Spain 2018)
  • 2016  - First Naust Marine trawl winches sold to American Seafoods, Seattle
  • 2018 - Naust Marine Spain established, winch design & production
  • 2019  - Complete winch solutions for 10 Norebo trawlers (43 winches, each ship, ATW system and cranes)
  • 2020  - 50 winches, ATW Control System & all other deck machinery to Viktor Gavrilov Super trawler
  • 2021  - Naust Marine receives ISO 9001 Quality Management Certification
  • 2022 - New office opened in Ísafjörður, Iceland
