Naust Marine is proud to announce that is has just supplied to Techano AS, part of the Dutch Van Aalst Group, (4) 20kW hydraulic capstans to the longest non-self-propelled vessel in the world! Complete with block controls and foot pedals for operations these capstans provide 5 tons at a rate of 20 meters per minute! The 430-meter-long Havfarmen is a semi-catamaran design, becoming the world’s largest fish farm for exposed waters and will be moored in Norway.

The Havfarmen is one of two planned “Havfarm” units owned and operated by the Norwegian aquaculture company Nordlaks. For the massive Havfarmen which intends to accommodate approximately 10,000 tons of salmon at a time, Naust’s heavy-duty and reliable winch systems provide the right solutions for optimizing production.  Winch designs will also withstand the inclement weather and high waves of Norway. Naust Marine is excited to be a part of this large and innovative project.
