In January Naust Marine´s specialists started up ATW winch control systems in two Monsund trawlers owned by the Russian firm Murmansk Trawl Fleet (MTF). MTF has purchased five ATW winch control systems from Naust Marine in the last months and the plan is to install them all in Monsund trawlers. The trawlers that got the systems this time are Oleg Naydenov og Zakhar Sorokin.
A captain and technician from Naust Marine went to Las Palmas at the end of December to start up the system in Oleg Naydenov and teach the captain and crew how to use it. Working aboard the trawler, where it docked in Las Palmas, they reviewed the installment of the system and started up the winches. This went well and on the 3rd of January they went with the ship to sea.
The course was set for Senegal which is a four days sailing from Las Palmas. Tests were made on the way which resulted in everything being ready when the ship reached the fishing grounds. Fishing went well but it turned out to be more complicated than anticipated to get the men back to shore as Senegal was not considered a safe option. In the end the men had to wait aboard the ship for ten days until they got onto a cargo ship that took them to Naodibou in Mauritania.
Reaching Naodibou after two days aboard the cargo ship the men went aboard Zakhar Sorokin, that had just arrived from Las Palmas. There two other specialists from Naust Marine had set up the ATW system during the first days of January. Due to engine problems the trawlers journey to Africa was however delayed for a few days resulting in the ship reaching Mauritania just as the men from Oleg Naydenov arrived .
After a short stop in Naodibou the men went to sea with Zakhar Sorokin. They were aboard the trawler for three days setting the system and teaching the captain and crew how to use it. All went well and this time there were no problems getting them back to shore.
The systems have worked well aboard both ships and the captains and crews have been satisfied. Naust Marine congratulates them on the new systems and hopes for a continued satisfaction.
