Earlier this year Naust Marine delivered the first of three ATW systems to the Russian firm Murmansk Trawl Fleet. The system will be installed aboard the Russian factory trawler Admiral Starikov, a Monsund trawler built around 1990.
Following the delivery a new winch-control system from Naust Marine will be set up aboard the ship. New Thyristor drives will also be installed, to translate AC torrent to DC torrent which powers the motors of the towing winches.
After the installation the winches will be controlled from the bridge and the winch-cabin. Winch control from the brigde is a novelty in such ships as the winches are traditionally controlled from the winch-cabin and orders sent to there through the speaker system.
The other two ATW systems for Murmansk Trawl Fleet will be delivered in November and December. The systems will be installed in similar Monsund trawlers.
Naust Marine has specialized in winches for Monsund trawlers and is the only company in the world specializing in updates for Monsund trawlers control systems.
There are 37 Monsund trawlers in the world, all built in East-Germany before 1992.
Including the three deliveries to Murmansk Trawl Fleet, Naust Marine has delivered 12 ATW systems for Monsund trawlers.
