Naust Marine has been declared one of the strongest companies in Iceland by the company Creditinfo.

Recently Naust Marine held a two days seminar for its employees and guests from the American firm Harris Electric.

Due to increased demand Naust Marine is opening a sales office in the United States. Naust Marine USA will be located at 4816 15th Ave NW, Seattle WA 98107.

Naust Marine has in recent months received groups of students and others interested in the company.

Naust Marine completed it´s participation in the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition 2011 over the weekend. At the show Naust Marine´s main emphasis was on promoting the Electrical Spooling Gear (ESG) for better reeling.

Equipment from Naust Marine can be found in more and more countries. In the last year companies in South Korea and China have joined the NM family.

The company Blue Wave Operations Ltd has invested in new equipment from Marine Marine for the freezer trawler Blue Wave. The equipment consists of new Thyristor drives and the ATW  (Automatic Towing Winch) system for electrical winches. Reading of length and torque will also be added and registered through the ATW system´s interface. In addition to that an AutoGen power management system will be set up for four generators.

Because of Naust Marine´s operations overseas the cpmpanys employees travel a lot, often far away where they can easily find themselves in unexpected situations.

Naust Marine recently completed its participation in the European Union´s Leonardo da Vinci mobility project. By participation in the project Naust Marine was awarded a grant to send four staff members for training at European companies that Naust Marine has strong links to.

The Russian trawler Alexey Anichkin has been fishing, with a new ATW system from Naust Marine, at the Reykjanes Ridge this summer. The installation of the system was completed in the port of Hafnarfjordur, hometown of Naust Marine, where the ship docked on its way to the fishing grounds.

„We are very happy with the system, happy with the support.  There is nothing else to say,“ said Capt. Jens Johnsen of the FT/ Northern Eagle after using his Naust Marine ATW system for a season.

Naust Marine´s systems and staff travel far and wide, including Latin America. Recently Naust Marine´s technicians were both in Peru and Panama.

At times when energy costs are increasing continuously ship owners are looking for ways to save  energy.  One thing worth considering is the choice between  electric  winches and hydraulic wire winches.

Earlier this year two Naust Marine employees went on a sea trial tour on board the trawler Norhern Eagle, one of American Seafoods Alaska ships, as the ship is equipped with ATW towing winch system from Naust Marine

Naust Marine employees are now working on installing an ATW system in the Meridian trawler General Troshev in the Ukrainian city of Nikolayev, north of the Black Sea

In January Naust Marine´s specialists started up ATW winch control systems in two Monsund trawlers owned by the Russian firm  Murmansk Trawl Fleet (MTF). MTF has purchased five ATW winch control systems from Naust Marine in the last months and the plan is to install them all in Monsund trawlers.  The trawlers that got the systems this time are Oleg Naydenov og Zakhar Sorokin.

The new year starts vividly at Naust Marine.  Ahead lies the project of starting up ATW Towing Winch Systems in four new ships. This means busy times and a lot of travelling for Naust Marine staff in the next few weeks as NM technicians travel the world to start up the systems and thereafter go on test trips aboard the ships.

Naust Marine presented its products at the Pacific Marine Expo í Seattle in the USA in November, where the company’s representatives marked a significant interest in the company and its products.

 Earlier this year Naust Marine delivered the first of three ATW  systems to the Russian firm Murmansk Trawl Fleet. The system will be installed aboard the Russian factory trawler Admiral Starikov,  a Monsund trawler built around 1990

Naust Marine has reached a deal with the firm Þorbjörn HF in Grindavík Iceland. Þorbjörn owns and operates the freezer trawler Gnúpur GK 11. According to the deal the ship' s ATW system will be upgrated and two sweepline winch motors replaced.

The ATW systems from Naust Marine have sold well in the last two years. Ten new systems were delivered in 2009, all to buyers outside of Iceland. Seven new systems have been delivered this year, one to an Icelandic ship.The systems were set up in ships, that fish from the Barents Sea, in the north, to Usuaia-island in Argentina, in the south.
 

Naust Marine signed a deal with American Seafoods in Seattle in april this year regarding purchase of equipment from Naust Marine. Naust Marine has also reached an agreement regarding cooperation with Harris Electric, one of the biggest marine electrical supplier and contractor in Seattle.

The new Skinney SF-20, arrived in its homeport Hornafjordur in the beginning of april this year, after almost 2 months of sailing from Taiwan.
The trip went well although they had to pass the dangerous pirate sea by the coast of Somalia.

In the beginning of July the vessel Þórir SF-77 arrived to its homeport Hornafjorður for the first time from Taiwan where she was built. The vessel is identical with its sister ship Skinney SF-20 that arrived earlier this year.

Helga RE-49 arrived recently to its homeport in Reykjavík from Taiwan. She is the third and last ship built for Iceland in Ching Fu shipyard. The other two are Skinney and Þórir that arrived to Iceland earlier this year.
